At Tulip Winery the winemaker chose to take high quality Syrah grapes from the northernmost vineyards in Kfar Yuval near Metula, characterized with Terra Rosa type of soil, and then to add 5% Petit Verdot to the final blend in order to create a robust, exciting French-style wine that was aged in barrels for a lengthy period of time.

Pre-fermentation, the grapes went through cold maceration for a few days, in order to attain deep color and aroma.

The grapes went through alcoholic fermentation for ten days and then rested atop the skins for an additional number of days. During pressing, the free run liquid was separated from the pressed wine in order to prevent bitterness in the wine.

The wine was aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels in order to obtain a richness of wood flavors and spices. Before bottling, the wine was coarsely filtrated in order to preserve its flavors.
